Kenyan kids to sing Kenyan National Anthem on Madaraka Day, June 10th 2017

Happy Friday WaKenya 🇰🇪 Pamoja Boston.

As we prepare for June 10th Madaraka Day celebration, we are proposing to have *all the kids sing the Kenyan National Anthem – 1st verse in Swahili*

We would like to request that all parents here teach it to their kids in the next few weeks. It will also be a good time to start talking about what Madaraka day is all about.

WaKenya 🇰🇪 Pamoja Boston.

Kenya National Anthem

Ee Mungu Nguvu Yetu
Swahili lyrics English lyrics
First stanza

Ee Mungu nguvu yetu
Ilete baraka kwetu
Haki iwe ngao na mlinzi
Natukae na undugu
Amani na uhuru
Raha tupate na ustawi.

Oh God of all creation
Bless this our land and nation
Justice be our shield and defender
May we dwell in unity
Peace and liberty
Plenty be found within our borders.

Second stanza

Amkeni ndugu zetu
Tufanye sote bidii
Nasi tujitoe kwa nguvu
Nchi yetu ya Kenya
Tuwe tayari kuilinda

Let one and all arise
With hearts both strong and true
Service be our earnest endeavour
And our homeland of Kenya
Heritage of splendour
Firm may we stand to defend

Third stanza

Natujenge taifa letu
Ee, ndio wajibu wetu
Kenya istahili heshima
Tuungane mikono
Pamoja kazini
Kila siku tuwe na shukrani

Let all with one accord
In common bond united
Build this our nation together
And the glory of Kenya
The fruit of our labor
Fill every heart with thanksgiving.

Madaraka Day Celebrations

June 10th 2017 , we will have Madaraka Day celebrations at 758 Crescent St. Brockton, Ma. starting at 2pm to 10pm.

This is a free event with lots of fun for both kids and adults. Come ready to play games we played in Kenya as we grew up and teach them to your kids, eat lots of Kenyan food with family and friends and learn about how to succeed in America.

We will have professional Kenyan speakers talking about education, immigration, health, insurance and much much more. Kids will learn about Madaraka day and the significance of this day in our Kenyan history.

This is an event to network, learn about resources that are available within our community and engage fellow Kenyans. There will be awards and recognition of those among us that have excelled in different fields.

The most important thing, is come and be ready to have a good-fun-time!!!!
